HAUGHLEY PARISH NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
Copies of the initial Draft Plan document, which mostly concerns possible housing development, were ready for viewing on Friday, 25th May 2018 in the Green Room, Village Hall between 4.00 and 7.00 pm and on Saturday, 26th May 2018 in the Village Hall between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm.
This was the start of the formal Six-Week Consultation period, when the Draft Plan was presented to all residents of Haughley Parish, for examination. A leaflet giving brief details, and where copies of the Draft Plan were located elsewhere, during this period, were sent to every home in the Parish before the start of the Six-Week Consultation.
This is your Plan – you have had the opportunity to have your say.
We were encouraged by the Government to engage with local people to have a say about what is developed within their Parish. Accordingly, we created a Haughley Parish Neighbourhood Plan (HPNP). This will be used to help inform issues focused on Housing and the Built Environment, Environment and Landscape, Community, Services, and Transport and Access within our Parish. The Neighbourhood Plan will ultimately become a legal document for determining planning policy within Mid Suffolk District Council and will have to be considered by developers when making any planning application.
You will find information from the Housing Needs Survey Executive Summary and a link to the Haughley Designated Area, which of course includes Haughley Green and Haughley New Street.
The Neighbourhood Plan Working Party meet on the second Thursday of every month, at 19:30 in the Old Reading Room, in Haughley Village Hall. Should anyone wish to attend the meetings, please do not hesitate to come along.
We also welcome anyone who is interested in joining the Neighbourhood Plan Working Party. For further information please contact Marian Adams 01449 674411 or marian.adams88@gmail.com.
